Titu Restaurant has run out of Shop No. 5, Mini Market-II, on Lodhi Road, since before most of its regulars can remember. This is the short version of how it stayed that way.
When Titu Restaurant first opened its shutters in Mini Market-II, C.G.O. Complex, the idea was simple: one kitchen that could put out a South Indian breakfast, a Punjabi thali and a plate of Chinese chowmein without anybody at the table having to compromise. That is still, more or less, the entire menu philosophy.
Being close to Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium and right by Metro Station No. 4 meant the crowd was always a mix — office-goers from C.G.O. Complex on a lunch break, families out for a weekend thali, and neighbourhood regulars who just wanted their evening roti without cooking it themselves.
The first menu was small — tandoor rotis, a handful of vegetarian curries, and a daily thali. It was enough to become the lunch spot for the neighbourhood.
As the regulars asked for more variety, the Chinese wok and the South Indian counter were added — idli, dosa, and the now-famous Titu Spl. Chowmein.
Tandoori chicken, chicken malai tikka, paneer tikka and the mutton counter rounded out the menu — the same one still served today.
Titu now delivers across the neighbourhood free of charge on orders above ₹200, while still keeping the dine-in room open with family seating, every single day.
Nothing sits under a heat lamp. Your chowmein hits the wok when you order it, not before.
Titu has always kept space for the whole table — grandparents, toddlers, and everyone in between.
Butter chicken, Dal Makhani and the Titu Ratan Spl. Thali are made the way they were thirty years ago.
"We never wanted to be the biggest restaurant on the road — just the one people trusted to feed their whole family, every single day."
